Curricular Courses Meaning in South African Context
Curricular courses are the official courses that institutions of higher learning (universities and colleges) offer as part of their main curriculum. Curricular courses form part of a universal qualification progression, such as Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Honours, Master’s and PhD.
Undergraduate curricular courses are Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree, while, postgraduate curricular courses are Honours, Master’s and PhD.
The progression of curricular courses is universal in a sense that, you can go to any country after completing any of the curricular courses in South Africa, and your qualification level will be recognised and valued accordingly.
Curricular courses are also assigned an NQF level based on the value of qualification.
