On this page, we have gathered all the resources and key information to help make the 2026 online application process at the Gauteng College of Nursing simple and clear for students.
You will see the full list of entry requirements, the campuses that are open for applications, what your Grade 11 or Matric marks need to look like, and how to upload your documents correctly on the official GCON application portal.
Many students do not know that Gauteng College of Nursing is one of the few public nursing institutions in South Africa that offers a fully accredited Diploma in Nursing with practical training at government hospitals.
As compared to other nursing colleges, GCON gives preference to learners from township and rural schools, and the application process is handled directly through the Gauteng government’s own nursing intake system — not through the usual college platforms.
