Steps to Apply for a Lost Matric Certificate Online
The whole application will be done through the E-Services government website. Below are the steps for you to follow after losing a matric certificate:
- Visit the eServices Website – Go to www.eservices.gov.za to access the online application platform.
- Complete the Online Form – Fill in the Replacement Certificate Application Form with your details.
- Pay the Fee – Pay the prescribed fee of R170.00 for the replacement certificate.
- You can also add R60.00 if you need a statement of results while waiting.
- Upload Required Documents – Ensure you have the following documents ready to upload:
- Affidavit explaining what happened to your original certificate.
- A certified copy of your ID.
- If your certificate is damaged, upload the original damaged certificate.
- Submit the Application – Once you’ve filled out the form, uploaded the documents, and made the payment, submit your application.
- Wait for Processing
- It takes 4 to 6 weeks for a replacement certificate if your records are on the system.
- For records not on the system, the process will take longer as the records need to be retrieved and updated.
- Request a Statement of Results (Optional) – You can request a statement of results while waiting for the replacement certificate. This is issued immediately.
