Lilitha College of Nursing 2026 Applications Are Now Open

Applications for the 2026 academic year open from 1 July 2025 and close on 29 August 2025, or later in the year if there is still space available. All applications must be submitted using the official Lilitha application form. These are not submitted online but must be delivered physically or by courier to the relevant campus.

There is no online application portal. Forms are available at all campuses or can be requested directly from the main office in East London.

Late or incomplete applications will be disqualified immediately.

Diploma in Nursing (General Nurse)

This 3-year professional qualification will be available at the following main campuses:

This programme leads to registration as a General Nurse with SANC and is the most comprehensive qualification offered at Lilitha.

Higher Certificate in Nursing (Auxiliary Nurse)

This is a 1-year accredited entry-level qualification offered at various sub-campuses across the province, including:

This programme is strictly for qualified nurses and is offered at:

  • St Patrick’s

It prepares registered nurses for work in maternity and reproductive health care.

Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

Offered at:

  • East London
  • Mthatha

Only available to professional nurses with prior qualifications, this course focuses on advanced psychiatric and mental health nursing.

Application Requirements at Lilitha College of Nursing 2026

To be considered for the Lilitha College of Nursing 2026 intake, applicants must submit all required documents, fully completed and certified. Your application will not be processed if any of the documents are missing or outdated.

You must have:

  • A certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate with English and Life Sciences
  • A pass in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
  • Certified ID copy
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of parental income or affidavit (for bursary consideration)
  • Medical report confirming you are fit to study nursing
  • Police clearance or affidavit confirming no criminal record

Postgraduate applicants must also provide proof of SANC registration and current nursing qualifications.
