About Abbotsford Christian School Abbotsford
History & Growth
- Established in 1928 as Nahoon Causeway School, a government school.
- Originally a small asbestos and wooden building, with no uniforms or shoes for learners.
- The school was closed in 1990 due to declining numbers.
- Christian Centre Abbotsford took over the school in 1991, turning it into an Educare Centre.
- Expanded over the years, adding more grades and classrooms as needed.
- 2009: First Matric class wrote the IEB final examinations.
- 2015: Began a building project to expand the school.
- 2016: Added a second Grade 1 class.
- 2019: High School closed, shifting focus to a larger Primary School.
- 2022: Achieved the goal of doubling all classes from Grade R to Grade 7.
- Currently has 320 learners, with plans for further growth.
