This guide helps new applicants through the process of applying online at Port Elizabeth TVET College for the 2026 academic year. The College has three main campuses: Dower, Iqhayiya, and Russell Road. It provides practical education to help students prepare for their future careers.
Follow these steps to ensure your application is submitted correctly.
Step 1: Access the Application Portal
Go to the official website: https://www.pecollege.edu.za.
Click the “Apply Now” button on the homepage to start.
Step 2: Register Your Profile
- Select “register as a new user”.
- Enter your ID number, full name, email address, and cellphone number.
- Create a secure password.
- If you have applied before, use your existing login details.
Step 3: Fill In the Form
- Complete your personal details and contact information.
- Choose your preferred programme and campus.
- Provide your educational history and your most recent school results.
- All applicants must complete a competency test during this stage.
Step 4: Upload Documents
You must upload clear PDF copies of the following certified documents:
- South African ID (or birth certificate if you are under 16).
- Your latest school results or Grade 12 certificate.
- Proof of residence.
- A Certificate of Good Conduct from your previous school or employer.
- Two certified copies of your ID.
- Your academic record and a de-registration letter (only if transferring from another college).
Step 5: Competency Testing
Applicants must write a test to check their skills in:
- English.
- Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
- Subjects related to your specific course choice.
Note: You must have done Mathematics at school to be considered for Engineering or ICT programmes.
Step 6: Specific Course Requirements
- ICT and Engineering: Mathematics is compulsory. Mathematical Literacy is only accepted for Engineering if you achieved 80% or higher.
- Safety in Society: You must be a South African citizen, at least 17 years old, have no criminal record, and no visible tattoos.
Step 7: Submit and Track
Once the form is finished, review your details and click “Submit”. You can track your progress by logging into your profile and checking the “My Applications” dashboard.

NSFAS and College Policies
- Bursaries: South African citizens can apply for NSFAS at www.nsfas.org.za.
- Attendance: You must attend at least 80% of your classes to be allowed to write exams.
- Cancellations: If you wish to cancel, you must do so within the first 10 days of class to qualify for a refund.
