2024 Fees

For the year 2024, Pretoria Boys High School has set its fees based on the grade your child is in. If your son is entering Grade 8 or 9, the fees stand at R71,950 for the year. To make this more manageable, parents have the option to pay monthly, with a fee of R7,195 per month over a period of ten months. For boys in Grade 10 or 11, the annual fee is slightly lower at R69,000, which can be broken down into R6,900 monthly over ten months.

When it comes to Grade 12, the school fees for the year are R70,200, which includes a refundable book deposit of R1,200. The monthly payment option for this grade is spread over nine months, with a fee of R7,800 per month.

For parents opting for boarding, the annual boarding fee is R85,900. If your child is in Grade 8 or 9 and staying in the boarding house, the combined cost for tuition and boarding is R157,850, which can be paid at R15,785 per month over ten months. In Grade 10 or 11, the combined annual fee is R154,900, or R15,490 per month. For Grade 12 boarders, the total combined fee comes to R156,100, which is payable over nine months at R17,344 monthly.

Additionally, for all new boarders, there is a once-off payment for the Boarding House Development Fund, which ranges from R5,000 in Grade 8 to R2,120 in Grade 12, depending on the entry grade. This amount also includes linen for younger students entering the boarding house.

While the official 2025 fees have not yet been released, it is safe to assume a potential increase based on historical trends. Typically, school fees rise by 5% to 8% each year. Using this estimate, parents of Grade 8 and 9 students could expect fees to be between R75,500 and R77,700. For Grade 10 and 11, the fees may rise to between R72,450 and R74,520. For Grade 12, expect the total fees to reach somewhere between R73,700 and R75,800, with monthly payments increasing slightly as well.

Boarding fees are also likely to increase by a similar percentage. If these trends hold, the boarding fees could reach between R90,200 and R92,800 for the year. Combined with tuition, Grade 8 and 9 boarders may be looking at a total of R166,000 to R170,000 for 2025, while Grade 10 and 11 boarders might pay between R162,600 and R167,000. For Grade 12, the total combined fee could go up to R164,800 to R169,200.
