Well, based on all South African TVET colleges courses list we have looked at, the only courses you can study at TVET Colleges are the following:
- Educare (N4 – N6)
- Early Childhood Development (ECD) (N4 – N6)
- Education and Development (NCV Levels 2–4)
- Training and Development
- Occupational Trainer Qualification
Therefore, you should not expect to study a B.Ed Teaching course at South African TVET Colleges. The Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) is the only official teaching course, which allows you to become a Teacher in South Africa, and is only offered at South African universities and universities of technology.
Career Path for Studying Teaching Courses at TVET Colleges
If you have studies one of the teaching related courses at a TVET College, such as Educare, Early Childhood Development and others, you will not become a Teacher at South African Schools. However, you can become one of the following:
- Early Childhood Development Practitioner or Preschool Teacher – if you have studied Early Childhood Development (ECD N4–N6),
- Creche Owner or Manager – if you have studied the Educare (N4–N6),
- Assistant Educator – if you have studied the Educare (N4–N6) or Education and Development (NCV Levels 2–4),
- Facilitator or Skills Trainer – if you have studied the Training and Development,
- Teacher Aide in Foundation Phase – if you have studied the Educare (N4–N6),
- Adult Education & Community Learning Facilitator – if you have studied the Education and Development (NCV Levels 2–4), and
- Workplace Training Practitioner – if you have studied the Occupational Trainer Qualification.
