False Bay TVET College is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. To secure a spot for next year, you must apply between April and the end of September 2025. The college has five campuses across Cape Town, each offering specialised programmes ranging from Engineering to Hospitality.
How to Apply Online
Follow these steps to complete your application for 2026:
- Career Interest Questionnaire: You must complete this first. Your application will not be processed without it.
- Online Registration: Visit the False Bay Application Portal to create your profile.
- Upload Documents: You must provide certified copies (not older than 3 months) of:
- Your South African ID or passport.
- Your latest academic results (June, Preliminary, or Final).
- Proof of address.
- Verification: The campus will check your documents and application details.
- Selection Review: If you meet the entry requirements, a committee will review your application.
- Offer Letter: If successful, you will receive a provisional offer. You must accept this within 5 working days.
- Registration and Payment: Once you accept, you need to pay your registration deposit or apply for NSFAS funding.
- Finalisation: After registration, you will receive your student number and card for campus access.

Courses Offered for 2026
Pre-Vocational Learning Programme (PLP)
This one-year programme is for students who need extra academic support before starting a Level 2 course.
- Requirements: Grade 9 pass.
- Location: Westlake, Muizenberg, and Khayelitsha.
National Certificate Vocational (NCV)
These are three-year full-time programmes.
- Requirements: Minimum Grade 9 pass.
- Fields: Finance, Office Administration, Electrical Infrastructure, Mechanical Engineering, Hospitality, Tourism, and IT.
Report 191 (NATED) N4–N6
These lead to a National Diploma after 18 months of theory and 18 months of workplace experience.
- Requirements: Grade 12 pass (Grade 11/12 for Engineering).
- Fields: Financial Management, Management Assistant, Tourism, Hospitality, and Engineering Studies.
Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Occupational Courses
These are mostly part-time or SETA-specific qualifications.
- Requirements: Varies from Grade 9 to Grade 12.
- Fields: National Diploma in ECD, Cisco CCNA, Python Programming, and various technical trades.
Important Entry Requirements
- NCV: Requires at least a Grade 9 pass.
- NATED (N4–N6): Requires a Grade 12 certificate.
- Occupational: Requirements vary; some allow Grade 10 or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
