University of Limpopo (UL) 2027 Application
Applying for a University of Limpopo online application is a digital process that requires upfront payment to be considered for a student number.
- Non-Refundable Handling Fee: Unlike the free online systems at some other universities, UL requires a non-refundable application handling fee of R200 for South African students and R750 for international students.
- Automatic Student Number: Once you complete the online application process and pay the fee, the system automatically generates a reference or student number for you.
- The APS Calculation: UL calculates your Admission Point Score (APS) based on your best subjects. For most degrees, such as those in Science and Agriculture, the university looks for an APS between 22 and 26 depending on whether you enter a standard or extended curriculum programme.
- Extended Curriculum Pathways: If your marks are slightly below the direct entry requirement for degrees in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences, UL provides "Extended Curriculum Programmes" (ECP) with a lower APS requirement (typically 22–24) to help you bridge the gap.
- High-Selection Health Sciences: The MBChB (Medicine) and Pharmacy programmes are extremely competitive. For Medicine, you need a high APS (minimum 27) and strong performance in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences.
