Application dates at UWC for 2026
The first important thing regarding UWC applications for the year 2026 is the application dates and deadlines. 2026 applications for most courses at UWC open from the 1st of April 2025, and close on the 30th September 2025. However, the following courses have the earlier deadline date of the 31st August 2025: Bachelor of Dentistry and Oral Health undergraduate degrees.

Step 1: Meet the UWC Courses Requirements
You will not be able to study at UWC for 2026 if you do not have The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) Bachelors pass. This means that you need to have at least 50 – 59% and above in four NSC subjects. You will not be accepted if you only have a Diploma pass.
Step 2: Get Your Application Info Ready
When you apply at UWC, you need to have the following information in place”
- ID/Passport number
- Valid email and cellphone number
- Your school’s address
- Contact details of a parent/guardian
Step 3: Proceed to the Application Portal
In order to submit your application at UWC for 2026, you will need to visit this link. That’s where you will be able to select “Undergraduate Programme”. UWC allows learners to apply for at least two courses options – the first choice and the second choice.
Click accept to submit your application.
Step 4: How to know is UWC Received Your Application for 2026?
After submitting your application, you will know that UWC has received your application by receiving an email confirming your application. This email contains your applicant number. This is the number that you will be able to use in order to track your application status in future.
Step 5: Uploading the Documents
After you have successfully applied at UWC, you will need to submit the following documents as a final step:

- ID copy
- Academic transcripts (if applicable)

When Will UWC Respond to the Applications for 2026?
The University of Western Cape (UWC) will respond to your applications only in January 2026. The university has to wait for your final Matric results in order to give you a final response regarding your application.
Changing Study Choices at UWC
If you feel like the first and second choices 2026 courses you applied for at UWC are no longer appealing to you, UWC will allow you to change both courses. You will not be able to do this through the application portal. Also, you do not do this by submitting a new application.
